Brno overview

Brno Travel Guide
Brno in Southern Moravia is the Czech Republic’s second largest city. Without the crowds which Prague tends to attract, Brno is well known for its Classical and Baroque architecture. Although the communist era resulted in a liberal use of concrete there are still numerous gems waiting to be discovered. Spilberk Castle offers exceptional views of the city and is the place to go to learn about a range of inventive methods of torture once conducted in its dungeons. The Czechs are fond of their potato and pork based dishes. Even the Moravian sparrow, a dish served with cabbage and dumplings is more pig than bird. Although Brno does not have the stag night reputation of Prague there are numerous places in which to share a glass of draught beer with the locals.
