Ceske Budejovice overview

Ceske Budejovice Travel Guide
Although the town has now grown from a small beer producing community which once produced amber liquid for the Holy Roman Emperor himself, it is still best known for it Budvar lager. A tour of the brewery is a must, but may require advance booking to avoid disappointment. Premysl Otakar II Square is enormous and flanked by historical buildings such as the Black Tower and the St Nicholas Cathedral. There are also numerous bars in which to sit back and enjoy a pitcher of the original Budweiser. A top tip is to seek out the establishments run by the Pivovar Budejovice Budvar as it is these places which sell the greatest range of locally made beer. A short bus ride will transport the visitor to Holasovice. The town is one of the best preserved in central Europe and also has a couple establishments serving the local brew.
